We provide specialized legal and regulatory advisory services, with a focus on intellectual property, data protection, corporate commercial, and immigration services.
Q2
How long does it take to register a trademark and what is the cost?
The process typically takes between 6 to 12 months, depending on whether there are objections or oppositions. Costs of registration vary based on the number of classes of goods/services and government filing fees.
Q3
Can GW Rifa help me set up my company as a data controller or processor?
Yes. We guide organizations through the process of registering with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), preparing the necessary documentation, and ensuring that your data processing activities comply with the Data Protection Act.
Q4
I am a startup with limited funding but in need of legal support. How can GW Rifa help me?
We understand the unique challenges startups face. GW Rifa offers flexible subscription models and tiered packages that allow you to access essential legal services—like contract drafting, compliance checks, and IP protection—at a cost that grows with your business. For as little as 10,000 a month, you can get the support you need without overstretching your budget with services such as company incorporation, contract drafting, and registration of intellectual property such as copyright and trademark.
Q5
How do you charge fees for an assignment/brief?
Our fees are tailored to the scope and complexity of each matter and guided by the Advocates Remuneration Order. Depending on your needs, we may charge on a fixed-fee basis, hourly rates, or through a retainer arrangement. We always provide a transparent cost estimate before commencing work. We also do not charge for consultancies under 20 minutes but a discovery fee of 5,000 will be applicable for review of complex matters and any document perusal.
